She’s sun kissed, honey dipped, mixed with a few chocolate chips, she is sweet… so sweet I could eat a bowl full of her. She is a pure mixture of strawberries, blueberries, and can’t forget the cherries, she is fruity… she is a fruit smoothie, she is better than popcorn in the movies, she is my favorite topping like sprinkles on ice cream… and I save her cherry for the special ending, but she’s also my beginning cause I drink her every morning like Sunny “D”, cause she fills me with vitamin “C”, I call her honey cause she’s my queen “B” and she’s exactly what I want, no need for “A”… recipe. She’s my usual, like coffee with two sugars and a cup of cream, if I am stressed she is my therapy like green tea, she is warm and soothing like a grilled cheese and if you don’t believe me, then have a piece… but not her, see she’s all me like a single serving, caramel drizzled and topped with whipped cream, so sweet she could be the diary queen to my burger king. Perfect match like sweet and sour but complete opposites like hot and mild but we make it work, we make a mix like vanilla ice cream and chocolate chips. I only chug never sip, because we’ve passed taste-testing, I’m on addiction. And although they call me Chalice she’s the only girl thirst quenching, like gin and juice or grey goose mixed with grenadine finished with a red wine, she is fine… She is ripe like the sweetest clementine and I would climb the tallest tree just to dabble in her peach and taste her wild berries but most importantly satisfy this fantasy, because I’m in search to find the perfect ingredient to complete my life’s recipe.
Background: Chalice aka Nenwon Gbilia wrote this poem to compare beautiful women to some of the sweetest pleasures in life, food! He appreciates finding creative ways to write about love and this was one of his favorite ways of doing that.
